Lots
of room to grow!
Plans are in place to fully utilize our new space,
bit by bit as funding becomes available. You can
watch the financial progress of the PETS Campaign by checking
out the donation indicator at the top of the page!
Here's the road we envision!
Phase 1:
The previous office area has been renovated and consists
of a public reception area, an office, an ADA bathroom,
a large cat room, several smaller cat rooms, the medical
suite, and intake area.
The
separate intake and isolated medical areas will help
control the spread of disease throughout the shelter.
New cats enter directly into an intake room until they
are spayed/neutered and are proven to be free of any
communicable diseases. The medical area can house up
to eight ill or injured cats. A separate exhaust system
in the medical area helps to further minimize disease
transmission.
Our
FIV+ or FeLV+ friends each have their own rooms where
they can safely roam instead of being kenneled all day.

Phase 2:
Partial renovation of the former warehouse area will
allow our cats to occupy the added space by April 2006.
When additional funds become available, Phase 2 renovation
will continue.
Future
Phases may include:
1. Landscaping - Landscaping plans are being created
and donated by the Metropolitan Design Center at the
University of Minnesota.
2. Other exterior improvements - cosmetic and functional.
