| Feline
Rescue is a no-kill organization that accepts and adopts
out many cats other organizations would euthanize. We'd
like you to meet a few of the cats who have passed through
our shelter on their way to a wonderful new life! |

Ivan
Ivan came
to the shelter from the waiting list in February
of 2004 badly matted, wild and diabetic; no one
could touch him. In time he learned to trust people
and was adopted into a new family in September of
2004.

Kodiak
This was another wild cat brought to Feline Rescue
in a live trap in June of 2004. Months of socialization
at the shelter paid off – he grew to love
human companionship and was adopted in December
of 2004. |

Portia
Cats remain at the shelter or in foster homes until
they are adopted out. Portia is a wonderful example
of why this is important. This petite lady lived
in the “Shy Room” of Feline Rescue for
six years until finally the perfect family arrived
to take her home in March of 2004. |

Abe
No cat is destroyed except when it is beyond medical
treatment. Cats testing positive for FIV/FeLV are
kept separately at the shelter or in foster homes
until adopted.
Abe,
a FIV+ stray between 3-5 years old, came to Feline
Rescue in January of 2003. He was adopted two
months later and is thriving in his new home.

Most of the cats arriving at Feline Rescue are in good
health and do not require special medical attention. They
adapt quickly to the shelter environment and many are
adopted into homes within a short time of their arrival.
It is the willingness of the organization to evaluate
such special cases like those mentioned above that sets
it apart in the shelter community. |
