BECOME A FOSTER CARETAKER!

Kitten season is here! If you are able to open up your heart and offer your home as a safe haven for a pregnant cat, a momma cat with kittens, or orphaned kittens, please consider becoming a foster caretaker. Call Cathy at 651-230-3263 or email her for more information.

There is also a need for permanent foster care or adoptive homes for special needs cats and kittens. FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Positive) cats and kittens are looking for homes where they will be the only cat or where only FeLV+ cats already reside. FIV+(Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Positive) cats can share a home with other FIV+ cats or be the sole center of attention.

Seriously injured cats do best in a foster home while they recuperate. Elderly cats appreciate spending the winter of their lives in the quiet environment of a home.

Veterinary Care for Special Needs Cats

Due to Feline Resue's policy of no-kill unless medically not treatable, we are asking for your continued support in helping cats with serious health problems.
Medical care, needed for the badly injured cats that come to Feline Rescue, is costly. Even with some discounts, veterinarian care is one of the largest single cost in the organization's budget.

Memberships and Donations

Help the kittens and cats by becoming a member or by making a donation today.
Do you know a number of businesses, foundations and organizations have matching gift programs to enable their employees and in some cases retirees to double their donations in support of charitable causes? Contact your human resources department for additional information about a matching gift program. Generally, a short form to fill out will be provided to include with the contribution you send us. Feline Rescue will then complete the form and submit it to your employer. The company will then review it and return a matching gift to us. You can also help by designating Feline Rescue, Inc. in your United Way contribution.

Declawing... Information & Alternatives

What is declawing, anyway?

After learning that declawing is a painful, unnecessary procedure that actually involves removal of far more than just a "fingernail," most cat owners opt for alternatives to declawing. The information in this pamphlet describes the declawing surgery and some of its potential implications, and also provides helpful alternative suggestions. With a bit of patience and understanding, you can live happily with your cat—claws and all (as well as your furniture!).

As a prospective cat owner, we ask you to PLEASE consider the following information and refrain from declawing your cat.
