Name That Litter

IT'S SPRINGTIME, AND FELINE RESCUE IS BURSTING WITH STRAY, ABANDONED, AND ORPHANED KITTENS!

We’d like to introduce you to Lily's brand-new kittens!

Lily gave birth to four healthy kittens on Sunday, April 4th – Easter Day.  When Lily isn't busy feeding, bathing, or teaching her babies how to be good little cats, she is trying to catch up on sleep.  Lily is so busy, she needs help naming her brand-new kittens!

We can tell you that the beautiful torbie kitten is a little girl, because torbies are always girls.  And we're pretty sure that the orange kittens are all boys.

The photos above were taken when the kittens were only a week old. And if you thought the kittens couldn't get any cuter, click here to view a video of them at five weeks.

We thought that lots of kitten lovers might want to help Lily, so we set up an on-line auction where you can "bid" for the opportunity to name her four kittens.  A bid is a pledge to make a donation to Feline Rescue.  The highest bidder wins the opportunity to name Lily’s kittens!

Enter your bid by clicking here.  You will be required to create an account by using only your name and e-mail address.  (We need that information so that we are able to contact you if you are the winning bid.)  Use NAMETHATLITTER for both the Auction ID and password.  If you have any questions about how to make a bid or navigate the website, please send an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Just to be clear, only the highest bidder pledges to make a donation to Feline Rescue.  But if your bid is not the highest bid, then perhaps you’d like to buy the kittens a gift from their kitten registry, such as toys, scratching posts, toys, cat trees, toys, cat beds, and more toys!  Did we mention that the kittens love toys?  Or perhaps you’d like to make a monetary donation to Feline Rescue for the kittens' spay and neuter, vitamins, vaccinations, kitten food, and veterinary care.  Click here to view the kitten registry, and click here to make a monetary donation.

Please note that your bid doesn't include the adoption of Lily or her kittens.  The highest bidder wins the opportunity to name Lily’s kittens while Feline Rescue cares for the kittens and while the kittens are available for adoption.  And Feline Rescue’s documents will use the names selected by the winning bidder.  Feline Rescue keeps all information about adoptions confidential.

Feline Rescue will always know the kittens by your names, so we ask that you submit names that may be repeated in "polite company".  Otherwise, Feline Rescue reserves its right to reject any name should it feel that the name is inappropriate.

Lily and Feline Rescue thank you for your generosity and creativity! Please enter your bid here by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.  That's when we'll close the bidding, and all bids will be locked-in.

The winning bid and other donations will be used to rescue and care for abused, abandoned, and stray kittens and cats until we can find their forever homes.
